Stained Glass Window – A Poem by Tatiana Popovitchenko

Tati - Shards of glass

do you remember how it looked
before conception
the Light shines through

the kaleidoscope residue
of what we knew
to accept what is Beautiful
and love through and through

the Light shines through
blinding
and it’s blissful to be born
a sharp shining shard
and it’s alone
monotoning

the Light shines through
shards now bound
with BFF glue that promises to hold

cracks are where
the Light shines through
the glue
imperfections
unacceptable

do we accept
or
are we fooled
by the kaleidoscope residue

we do not accept
that Light shines through
the shards are strewn
no memory of Beautiful
how far or close
why even try

the Light shines through
we endeavor
to reassemble
and it shines through and through
