Origination – A Poem by Kathryn Aedy

They know when to let their successor rise.
They accept you as you arrive.
You must learn on your own,
think and feel towards a solution.
Showing their values through actions,
they give the gift of confidence,
and throw you straight into it,
based on a “good feeling.”
Trust, openness.
They do things
because they matter.
Never telling you how to be
nor mocking how you are,
instead they build on difference
to create
an even stronger force.
They view their power as a privilege,
and follow their personal vows to be
like a leader they most admire.
the support they receive,
they prevent
unnecessary harm.
They give credit where it is owed
and seek not recognition.
Flowing between labour and leisure,
the strength of their character remains unchanged.
Self-control above controlling others.
“Where your attention goes, your energy follows.”
When one begins to advance,
there is no fear.
Flourishing, is another
Great Leader.

With respect to those who have led me.
